Today, I have withdrawn my candidacy for president of the United States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort.

I think this is the best move for all concerned. My hope is to see Fred Thompson as the VP choice for the Republican ticket. There should be a real conservative on the ticket.
McCain or Romney? I think the McCain/Thompson ticket is the best choice remaining.
Sounds like all of us Fred backers are about to splinter off. My choice is the Mormon. I agree though that this is good. It’s time to move on, to do his business or get off of the pot.
