Congratulations To Shell For A Job Well Done
It is always good to see a company post a profit, especially one that provides such an important service as extracting oil out of the ground. As expected, those who hate capitalism and instead love government, are a little upset over this company making money. Not having a basic understanding of supply and demand, and how the future’s market works, the intellectually challenged are accusing this company of price gouging, which in itself is a questionable term. You see in capitalism, every deal is a win win. If you are willing to sell something for a certain price and somebody is willing to buy that something for that price, both parties win. Prices, by the way, are determined by the supply of a product and how much demand there is for that product. I apologize for speaking to you all as if you are fifth graders, but apparently some of us are not quite sure how capitalism works, and would prefer we have a command economy.
Amazingly, we live in a time when the leading Presidential candidate for one of the two major parties has threatened to confiscate oil company profits. Yes it’s true. Believe it or not, the person who may eventually represent the Democratic Party in the Presidential race, has actually promised to “take” a private company’s profits. And we thought that Marxism had been proven a failure.
