The Berkeley blowback
Some people take Free Speech seriously.
In a contest between the Marines and Code Pink I’ll go with the Marines.
One Marine takes on Code Pink.
Has Code Pink bitten off more than it can chew?
WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., says the City of Berkeley, Calif., no longer deserves federal money.
DeMint was angered after learning that the Berkeley City Council voted this week to tell the U.S. Marine Corps to remove its recruiting station from the city’s downtown.
“This is a slap in the face to all brave service men and women and their families,” DeMint said in a prepared statement. “The First Amendment gives the City of Berkeley the right to be idiotic, but from now on they should do it with their own money.”
“If the city can’t show respect for the Marines that have fought, bled and died for their freedom, Berkeley should not be receiving special taxpayer-funded handouts,” he added.
In the meantime, a senior Marine official tells FOX News that the Marine office in Berkeley isn’t going anywhere.

That end of the spectrum (the farthest of the leftist Democrats) should be derided not only by the right blogosphere and Republicans, but by the more centrist Democrats…and all of the presidential candidates.
Let’s hope the MSM has the cojones to ask Hillarity and Obama their opinions of their compatriots in Berkeley.
Wouldn’t hurt to get John McCain’s reaction as well. Hell, as unstable and misguided as he is, he might be closer to CodeStink than those other two.
I bet ol’ ed8y wonders why this doesn’t work as good bait.
I went at looked at the list of speakers at YKos 2007, and I didn’t see a single Code Pink person lined up as a speaker.
Then, I compared that with the list of speakers at CPAC 2007.
Believe it or not, most liberals think of Code Pink, PETA, et al, about as often as we worry about getting hit by falling space debris. And it’s a safe bet that those numbers are directly proportional — the more one worries about the latter, the more likely one is to be a member of one of the former.

It’s straining at a Ward Churchill (who?) to swallow a Rush Limbaugh, guys. It’s why you entertain us so much.

The Battle of Berkeley Versus the Marines Continue…
I hate it when groups like Code Pink take it upon themselves to try to speak for all women. They certainly DON?T speak for me. They don?t seem to understand that (see photo above), but then introspection and insight are not their strong suites….
