The Myth of All Christians Being Conservatives
Southern Beale makes an excellent point about the media myth that all Christians are Republicans. That isn’t true. In fact, historically it is just the opposite. The current allegiance that white Christian evangelicals have to the Republican party is a pretty recent thing. Even now it is a loose relationship. Most Christians, even the “conservative” ones, support some sort of forced benevolence programs for “helping” the poor. They are not, for the most part, fiscal conservatives. Of course black evangelicals never left the Democratic Party.
So there you go. Southern Beale is right. Mark it down.
By the way, I am also an evangelical, a Southern Baptist, so I know what I am talking about here. Most of my brothers and sisters are all for social conservatism (oxymoron) mixed with fiscal liberalism. The libertarian-conservatives, like myself, are in the minority. Perhaps we are on that narrow road the Bible talks about.
So there you go. Southern Beale is right. Mark it down.

That’s true, but only twice out of 1,440 minutes a day. As for the other 1,438 minutes, well …
So… conservatives only do digital clocks?

Hey, I’m right a lot of the time! It’s just that when I am, you declare that you’re “tired” and leave the thread.
