A Different Kind Of Stoning

Carole Borges is reporting that Iraqi farmers have found a new cash crop.

Just imagine if pot were legal. Could it help desperate Iraqi farmers create their own form of a “green economy”? NPR reports on the shift from opium growing to the cultivation of cannabis in Iraq….

This is great news. I would love to see a pot smoking epidemic overtake the Middle East. Think about it. Have you ever seen potheads fight? I think they should grow the heck out of this herb and distribute it among the terrorists.

Serr8d, if this isn’t worthy of a photoshop, I don’t know what is.

    Ignorance.

    Hemp (pot) is one of the most easily grown and most useful plant that can be farmed. The complete protein and the EFAs contained in hempseeds are in ideal ratios for nutrition. Only soybeans contain a higher percentage of protein. The composition of protein in hempseed is unique in the vegetable kingdom. 65% of the protein content is in the form of globulin edestin - containing all the essential amino acids in ideal proportions to assure human capacity to create proteins like disease-fighting immunoglobulins.

    50% of all chemicals used in American agriculture today are used in cotton growing. Hemp needs no chemicals and has few weed or insect enemies. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson grew cannabis on their plantations. The use of it’s fiber for paper, rope, cloth uses production methods that are immensely more environmentally sound and sustainable than synthetics. The first Gutenberg Bible and the Declaration of Independence were printed on hemp paper, if they were printed on pulp paper that we use today, they would have disintegrated by now.
    Hempseed oil is also the brightest lamp oil and makes a less toxic base for paint.

    Lemme tell you a little story about a war hero. GHW Bush -

    When the young pilot, George Bush, baled out of his burning airplane after being hit by enemy fire over the Pacific -

    - Parts of his aircraft engine were lubricated with cannabis hempseed oil;

    - 100% of his life-saving parachute webbing was made from U.S. grown cannabis hemp

    - Virtually all the rigging and ropes of the ship that pulled him in were made of cannabis hemp.

    - The fire hoses on the ship (as were those in the schools he had attended) were woven from cannabis hemp; and,

    - Finally, as young George Bush stood safely on the deck, his shoes’ durable stitching was of cannabis hemp, as it is in all good leather and military shoes to this day.

    Just so you know, hemp was phased out in favor of Dupont’s new synthetic products after it prohibition in 1937. New DuPont “plastic fibers,” were produced under license in 1936 from the German company I.G. Farben - the company Prescot Bush partnered with to make money from concentration camp labor. (patent surrenders were part of Germany’s World War I reparation payments to America). 30% of I.G. Farben, under Hitler, was owned and financed by America’s DuPont.

    A little education for you Glen about marijuana growing - from me, a non-user.

    Thanks William, but why did you call me ignorant? I know about hemp and all of its uses.
