“Father” Mike Pfleger: Holy SH*T Head!! Another apology from Obama! Maybe he should just tell ‘em to ‘STFU until I get elected, THEN we’ll talk BLT’ UPDATE!!! OBAMA FLEES BURNING CHURCH!!!!111!!!

Black Liberation Theology. That’s what ‘Father’ Michael Pfleger brought to the pulpit at Chicago’s Finest Church in last Sunday’s political screed. Just watch this video…
A rant and message more aligned to Farrakhan and Reverend Wright than to Jesus Christ.
Jesus who? I’ll wager the members and ministers of Trinity United Church of Christ are more concerned with politics and cash flow than with the dissemination of any religious, Christian message.
Now is the time to question TUCC’s continued Tax Exemption Status. Why does TUCC still qualify for tax exempt status?
No Political Activity For or Against Candidates Permitted
Church tax exemptions are in jeopardy if an organization engages in direct political activity either against or on behalf of a political candidate or in an attempt to directly influence the passage of particular legislation. Churches and religious organizations, just as any other tax-exempt charitable organization, are free to comment on any social, political, or moral issues. They may not, however, speak out for or against political candidates if they wish to continue being tax-exempt. Losing tax-exempt status can mean both having to pay income taxes and that donations to the group will not be tax deductible by the donors.
Is there no one asking for relief against this racist ‘Church’? Relieve them of their tax exemption, because it’s obvious there’s no ‘religion’ taught here. Only Black Liberation Theology, a racist interpretation of Christianity, espoused now by unwitting Democrats as a way to political power. BLT is hate speech, wrapped in religion; similar to the way some Muslim extremists use the Koran to justify their versions of bad behavior. This platform at TUCC is solely for political action, not even cleverly disguised anymore as preaching the Word of God. There is enough justification to call for separation.
Separation of Church and Hate. Separation of TUCC from their Tax Exemption status.
From the Trinity United Church of Christ Mission Statement…
“…we are called to be agents of liberation…”
and
“The fortunate who are among us combine forces with the less fortunate to become agents of change for God who is not pleased with America’s economic mal-distribution!”
So, as with everything, this is all about money. And, now, about political power; inserting Barack Obama into the presidency as a Trojan Horse to spring BLT to mainstream.
Lord, help us.
Update!Pfleger’s early mouth diarrhea may cost Obama the superdelegate’s nod! Are we going to have the “Recreate ‘68″ Convention fight in Denver we all want to see? From Lynn Sweet…
WASHINGTON — The Rev. Michael Pfleger’s “I’m white! I’m entitled … black man stealing my show” outburst about Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton from the pulpit of the Obama family church, Trinity United Church of Christ, created a political problem for likely Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama that won’t disappear.Pfleger’s crusades against guns, prostitution, porn and tobacco have made good copy for years for a fairly admiring local press corps hooked on cheering for the underdog, the poor and the powerless.
Pfleger is the subject of a documentary being made by Chicago-based David Axelrod, Obama’s top strategist. On Friday, Axelrod told me in an e-mail that the film project has “been dormant for much of the last two years due to other commitments.”
Pfleger — a headline-making household name in Chicago — steps onto a national stage at a time an international press corps is making trips to Chicago to dig into Obama’s life to learn more about the man who may be president.
As the song goes, everything old is new again. CNN just did an “investigative” piece on how Obama knocked former state Sen. Alice Palmer (D-Chicago) off the ballot so he could run for her seat in 1996 without opposition. That Pfleger welcomed Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan to his St. Sabina Church on the South Side — of interest to out-of-town reporters — hardly caused a stir in the city because Farrakhan has long lived in Chicago and, well, he’s part of the scene, having preached from his own mosque for decades.
This might be the crown jewel of Obama’s house full of nuts and gaffes, along with his angry, bitter wife and an uneaten waffle.
Remember, for 20 years B. Hussein Obama sat in that Church.
If you still want to call it a Church.
UPDATE!!!Obama resigns from Trinity United Church of Christ.
Can you say political expediency?

8 of 12 are foreign born or have parents that are, many are Indian, Pakistani, or of Asian descent. Almost all of them are bilingual and most of them play a musical instrument. What is it about other cultures, particularly Asian and Indian ethnicities that tend to excel disproportionately and out perform Caucasian Americans academically in so many areas … from engineering to medicine to music? From personal experience, I can tell you that the major college music conservatories like Julliard, and San Francisco Conservatory are dominated by Asian students. I wonder if this is a commentary more on the education in America or the level of discipline in other cultures?
Speaking of music, check this out. How old do you think she is?
Podcast Appalachia: “Appalachian Abolitionism”
The latest episode of Podcast Appalachia is now available! It’s a little known fact that Appalachians, both in the North and the South, played a major role in the early movement to abolish slavery. In this episode I look at this history and examine the role Appalachians played in expanding human liberty. You can listen here or view a transcript here.
The swiftboating of Scott McClellan by people who haven’t read his book
… like Bob Dole, Dana Perino, and GW Bush.
In typical Republican smear method of operation, Bushies are piling on Scott McClellan and attacking him personally without even considering the substance of what he is saying or even having read the book.
Why is this viewpoint which has been verified time and time again, by previous insiders, Clarke and O’Neil, by a documented Pentagon propaganda program, by military generals, why is this so hard for Bushies to admit or accept? From the book:
Bush and his advisers knew that the American people would almost certainly not support a war launched primarily for the ambitious purpose of transforming the Middle East. … Rather than open this Pandora’s box, the administration chose a different path — not employing out-and-out deception but shading the truth; downplaying the major reason for going to war and emphasizing a lesser motivation that could arguably be dealt with in other ways (such as intensified diplomatic pressure); trying to make the WMD threat and the Iraqi connection to terrorism appear just a little more certain, a little less questionable, than they were; quietly ignoring or disregarding some of the crucial caveats in the intelligence and minimizing evidence that pointed in the opposite direction; using innuendo and implication to encourage Americans to believe as fact some things that were unclear and possibly false (such as the idea that Saddam had an active nuclear weapons program) and other things that were overplayed or completely wrong (such as implying Saddam might have an operational relationship with al Qaeda).
Yea, you can call him every name in the book, put up clever photoshops, link to websites that try to discredit McClellan through dubious circular reasoning (he lied then, must be lyin’ now, follow the money, etc…), but in the final analysis, you have to listen to what he says and by every indication - he is 100% spot on. Unlike this post, you won’t find links or substance in these attack posts. They don’t document or refute anything, they just smear - pathetically, that’s all they can do - carry out an authoritarian agenda.
I can’t wait for more polling data to come out to show who is more believable, Bush or McClellan.
Bob Dole. Scott McClellan. No Contest. [UPDATED; understanding Scott’s motive as promoting ‘teh Leftist Narrative’ (not to mention that Scott is obviously fleecing the mindless BDS sufferers)]

~*~
Updated: Bob Dole continues in his e-mail to Scott McClellan:“In my nearly 36 years of public service I’ve known of a few like you,” Dole writes, recounting his years representing Kansas in the House and Senate. “No doubt you will ‘clean up’ as the liberal anti-Bush press will promote your belated concerns with wild enthusiasm. When the money starts rolling in you should donate it to a worthy cause, something like, ‘Biting The Hand That Fed Me.’ Another thought is to weasel your way back into the White House if a Democrat is elected. That would provide a good set up for a second book deal in a few years”
Dole assures McClellan that he won’t read the book – “because if all these awful things were happening, and perhaps some may have been, you should have spoken up publicly like a man, or quit your cushy, high profile job”
Whether or not anything in this book are true, the fact is that Scott McClellan chose now to publish this thinly disguised hit piece. If he had waited until after President Bush left office, there would be fewer dollars jumping in his pocketses. Scott knows that the frothing liberals who will buy it are ripe for the plucking; one of the symptoms of BDS is the rabid acceptance of anyone who agrees with their POV no matter how obvious their agendas.
That same reasoning applies to their acceptance of people like perennial Leftist-Cause supporter and moneybags George Soros, who otherwise would be scoffed at as ‘one of those evil rich people who obviously doesn’t pay enough taxes’. (They would be right if they looked at Soros in that light; when was the last time he paid U.S. taxes?) And, Soros may be partly responsible for high gas prices. He’ll be dragged before a Senate committee next week to ’splain the role his hedge funds played in crude oil’s futures price surge.
Oh. Did I mention Soros? Further evidence that the motives for this Scott McClellen book are only political…
“We’d merely note that the book’s publisher is PublicAffairs, an imprint founded by left-wing editor Peter Osnos and which has published six books by George Soros. PublicAffairs is owned by Perseus Books, which is owned by Perseus LLC, a merchant bank whose board includes Democrats Richard Holbrooke and Jim Johnson, who is now doing Barack Obama’s vice presidential vetting. One of Perseus’s investment funds, Perseus-Soros Biopharmaceutical, is co-managed with Mr. Soros.”
We wonder if Mr. McClellen will be rewarded, as Bob Dole speculates, with another nice, cushy job in a Democratic administration where he simply reads what’s given to him and has no further insight into actual policy decision-making than would any Presidential lapdog.
Not a lapdog. More likely, as just another flea jumping to the next host.
Stunning claims about Barack Obama

McClellan: “I’d be happy” to testify
McClellan on his book: What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington’s Culture of Deception -
“My comments are sincere and honest and absolutely the truth…”
Lawyers working for the House Judiciary Committee are meeting with former White House spokesman Scott McClellan regarding the explosive revelations contained in his new tell-all memoir, and the committee’s chairman says he may renew hearings on the administration’s leak of a CIA officer’s identity now that new details have been published.
The swiftboating continues. Former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole – who said he had not read the new book – called McClellan a “miserable creature” in a scathing e-mail that quickly became public.
Former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan said Friday he would be willing to comply with a possible congressional subpoena to discuss the administration’s handling of pre-war intelligence, telling CNN’s Wolf Blitzer he’d be “happy to talk if I am asked to testify.”
Susan Sarandon will move to Italy or Canada if McCain Wins
So please, vote for John McCain.
SUSAN SARANDON, who appeared in three films last year and won kudos for her TV movie “Bernard and Doris,” is still not a contented soul. She says if John McCain gets elected, she will move to Italy or Canada. She adds, “It’s a critical time, but I have faith in the American people.”
OK, American people. You don’t want Susan to move out of the country, so it’s up to you to elect Barack Obama. What? You thought Susan of all people would be for Hillary Clinton? Well, no. She told John Hiscock: “I thought the whole point of feminism is that you’re not supposed to be defined by gender. I don’t understand the reasoning behind that, because I wouldn’t vote for Condoleezza Rice, and I hated Margaret Thatcher.”
New isolated tribe discovered in the Amazon
And judging by the warriors taking aim at the aircraft that photographed them, they wish to remain ‘uncontacted.’
It amazes me that in this day, there are tribes of indigenous people living in the jungles of Brazil that have not been contacted or touched by modern civilization. Since this tribe has not been contacted, we have no idea of their background or what language they speak. It does appear that after first seeing the plane, they donned red war paint and brandished weapons for the plane’s repeated passes. Fascinating.
Every effort needs to be made to protect the environment in which these people live, which remains threatened by logging and cattle farming.

A Conservative Agenda: Part 2 of 5
(Originally posted on An American Front Porch, by Alan Gable)
Part 2 of our Conservative Agenda deals with Fundamental Tax Reform. The thing with federal taxation issues is that the vast majority of the populous knows as much about tax structure as I know about AstroPhysics; I can see the stars at night and I am bound by gravity but my understanding ends only at what I deal with on a daily basis. This is similar to the normal American’s understanding of taxation; he/she understands only that which binds his or her current financial decision making.
As a matter of full disclosure, I am a tax accountant by trade and a card carrying member of Americans For Tax Reform. I have a broad grasp on the subject matter but there are many times that tax code confuses the mess out of me. It is complicated and technical and ever-changing. It is a jumbled fiasco of legalese and politically motivated caveats. The need for over arching tax reform is prevalent and immediate.
Conservative leadership should be bringing the heat for fundamental reform instead of throwing the slow curve in the dirt called “economic stimulus”. I have defended the recent stimulus plan as a temporary economic jolt but its effects will be short lived. The stabilizing plank in a new conservative platform must aim to change the way the government taxes her citizens. Conservative tax reform is motivated by the idea that if big government gets out of the way and relieves the oppressive burden of taxes, then Americans will do what they have always done; innovate and drive economic prosperity.
A word to practicality: conservatives cannot afford to throw their collective weight behind either the “flat tax” or the grassroots movement of the “fair tax”. Each of these plans would require massive government overhauls. While both plans are desireable in the theoretical realm, national government reform of any kind must move in small incremental “baby steps”. This is a reality we would be wise to understand.
Here is one conservative’s specific plan on fundamental tax reform.
The first step is an immediate push for a three-tiered piece of tax reduction legislation. Tier One would provide for the expensing of business assets purchased in the next 2 years. For a brief explanation of why this is a good idea see here. Accelerated or immediate expense of newly acquired business property is mandatory in the conservative agenda. Tier Two would cut the corporate income tax rate from the current punitive 35% to 25% and allow corporate capital gains to be taxed at 15% (the current rate for individuals) instead of 35%. This is a slam dunk. Lower income tax rates free up additional capital which large corporations use to pay employees (more jobs). Also, the drop in corporate capital gains rate would allow corporations to look to sell those large capital assets that they formerly held on to for fear of steep reduction in value at sale caused by a 35% capital gains rate. Tier Three would allow individuals to index their capital gains basis for inflation. Example: If a man had the foresight to purchase several shares of WalMart Stores, Inc. several years ago, he would currently be sitting on a capital asset worth many times his original investment. Under the current rules, when he sells those shares, he must pay capital gains tax on that massive increase in value based on his original purchase price and current market price. However, the value of a dollar has changed since the 80s and he should be able to adjust his basis (original purchase price) to account for inflation over the course of the asset’s holding period.
The second step of a conservative tax reform plan has to address several broad issues affecting Americans.
It must look to Free Market Healthcare Reform by encouraging citizens to take advantage of Health Savings Accounts accompanied by high deductible health insurance coverage. Healthcare costs increase when the consumer and the payer are no longer the same entity. HSAs put the consumer power back in the hands of the patient. Conservative tax reform must include exemption of income set aside in HSAs and an annual wellness tax credit for tax payers who undergo regular medical physicals. The current liberal ideal of government provided healthcare only increases the gap between consumer and payer and will drive healthcare costs even higher.
It must encourage the personal financial principles of saving and investment. All income from savings and retirement accounts should be exempted (not just deferred). The capital gains rates on investments and tax rates on dividends should be continually held in check and eventually eliminated.
It must look to permanently eliminate both the Death Tax and the Alternative Minimum Tax. Both of these “additional taxes” were devised and set up in order to “make sure that the rich paid their fair share of taxes”. The greatest and most divisive hoax that Liberalism ever pulled was to convince poor people that people wealthier than they, needed to be punished. The claim that the “rich don’t pay their fair share of taxes” represents an asinine misunderstanding of basic mathematics and a willingness to divide people. Sadly, this claim seems to be the bread and butter of the Democrat playbook.
It must look to curb taxes on Energy. When you tax energy, you suppress its production causing its price to skyrocket (Decreased production causes decreased supply. When demand is high and supply is low, prices go up. Hence, $4.00 per gallon) The Liberal answer (as well as John McCain)to this is to cap demand by punishing the use of energy products. A conservative agenda on tax reform must focus on allowing the free market to work instead of trying to control its major facets with punitive and confiscatory measures. A strict reduction in fuel taxes as well as energy production taxes is necessary.
A compelling visual political cartoon, don’t you think?

This is from Cold Fury, h/t Brian at 6MB.
Pretty much sums up the crossroads we’re approaching. Maybe a change to Apocryphal Obama’s finger, with some BLT on the side, eh? Since we’re temporarily whipping radical Islam, for now.
But, they are patient, aren’t they? We can’t really count them out.
They have no 30-minute sitcoms to distract them from their long-term planning.
You wonder why conservatives are so ill informed
A high ranking Bush staffer and long time associate says on the Today Show that the President admitted an impeachable offense and committed a crime; but what do the conservative news sources say about it? Almost nothing! If you get your news from Drudge, Fox News , World Net Daily … you are living in another world.
No, it’s not important to Drudge that McClellan verified that Bush admitted committing a crime - what is important to Drudge is this headline:
What’s important to FoxNews? On their front page they report stories like: Thong-Faced Thieves Rob Gas Station. Forget about Scotty! You’ll find him well off their front page, buried deep in the political section with this headline:
World Net Daily - would we find an intelligent discussion of McClellan’s allegations? Hell no! Just misinformation, swiftboating, bullshit peddling, and chasing wild geese:
Now, you can understand why these idiots suffer from a basic lack of knowledge. They willingly submit to manipulation, spin, and denial. Pathetic… and very telling.
Today Show interview: McClellan reveals that Bush authorized leak in Plame case
In other words - Bush at the very least committed an illegal and impeachable offense. The case could be argued that this would be tantamount to treason. Instructing underlings to selectively leak information resulting in a breach of national security, damage to US counterintelligence, and the outing of a CIA agent - Plame, who was working to monitor Iran’s nuclear program. This was done to undermine a critic of the Iraq war.
It had long been suspected that Bush illegally leaked ‘cherry picked’ information from a classified National Intelligence Estimate and subsequently feigned ignorance of his involvement, keeping the public and the investigators from being able to seek accountability. Now it has been proven by Scott McClellan in his Thursday May 29, interview on the Today Show with NBC’s Meredith Viera:
McClellan: But the other defining moment was in early April 2006, when I learned that the President had secretly declassified the National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq for the Vice President and Scooter Libby to anonymously disclose to reporters. And we had been out there talking about how seriously the President took the selective leaking of classified information. And here we were, learning that the President had authorized the very same thing we had criticized.
Viera: Did you talk to the President and say why are you doing this?
McClellan: Actually, I did. I talked about the conversation we had. I walked onto Air Force One, it was right after an event we had, it was down in the south, I believe it was North Carolina. And I walk onto Air Force One and a reporter had yelled a question to the President trying to ask him a question about this revelation that had come out during the legal proceedings. The revelation was that it was the President who had authorized, or, enable Scooter Libby to go out there and talk about this information. And I told the President that that’s what the reporter was asking. He [the reporter] was saying that you, yourself, was the one that authorized the leaking of this information. And he [Bush] said “yeah, I did.” And I was kinda taken aback.
Why this is illegal:
It violates specific procedures on declassifying intelligence as detailed in an Executive Order that Bush signed on March 25, ‘03. To see more specific info on the law violated, the time line, and the statements [lies] Bush made on the record after authorizing the leaks (according to Libby’s sworn testimony on pg. 39 of his filing), SEE THIS LINK.
Scott McClellan stated today in the same interview his noble motivations for telling the truth:
“I have a higher loyalty than my loyalty necessarily to my past work. That’s a loyalty to the truth and it’s a loyalty to the values I was raised on. I talk about my upbringing in a political family that talked about the nobility of public service and the importance of speaking up and talking about making a positive difference. I hope that this book will help do that.”
95% of people surveyed on CNN this morning believed McClellan more than Bush. It’s time for Bush supporters to do a gut check. What is more important to you, authoritarian loyalty, or the truth and the rule of law? Time to take a stand, which is it? Integrity and ethics, or loyalty, lies, and abuse of power?
Sharon Stone sobers up
In a post earlier this week I mentioned the strange case of Karma, Vodka, and Earthquakes.
The good news is Ms. Stone finally sobered up. Good for her.
Hollywood star Sharon Stone has apologised for suggesting China’s earthquake was bad “karma” for its handling of Tibet, but Christian Dior on Thursday dropped her from its local ads amid a public uproar. The 50-year-old US actress offered to help with relief efforts after the May 12 quake that killed nearly 70,000 people, in an effort to smooth over tensions sparked by her controversial comments at the Cannes Film Festival last week.
“My erroneous words and deeds angered and saddened the Chinese people, and I sincerely apologise for this,” she said in a statement issued by Dior China and sent to AFP on Thursday.
“I’m willing to participate in any earthquake relief activity and to do my utmost to help Chinese people affected by the disaster,” she added.

Heading Home

Yesterday, the USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) left Yokosuka Harbor in Japan for her final voyage in active service. Commissioned in 1961, the Kitty Hawk has been an elder statesman of the Navy for many years.
I love this ship, if for anything because it flew, and still flies the First Naval Jack. “Don’t Tread On Me” is her motto, and she wears it proudly.
I post this today, if anything, because her presence in Japan is remarkable. Not because she served against our Japanese enemies. But because she served alongside our Japanese allies, and was sent off with fanfare and applause. What a beautiful picture of the good that can be accomplished by the US Military eh?
I leave you now with a photo from her leaving Japan. Leave a comment as to what it says to you. It’s pretty darned powerful to me.
Arctic Sea Ice traps eco-tourists looking to 'see it for the last time!' OH, the irony! (Next, a trip to visit Red Spot Jr?)
From “Watts Up With That?”…
“Last year as arctic sea ice melted to record levels, panic set in for many. But then, as the sea ice rebounded and froze again quickly in the 2007/2008 winter, making up for that record loss and reaching heights not seen for several years, many exclaimed that even though the ice areal extent had recovered, this new ice was “thin” and would likely melt again quickly. There were also many news stories about how the Northwest Passage was ice free for the first time “ever”.”
Last year, while polar bears (sob!) ‘drowned‘, the leftists who bought into Global Warmalism cried loudly about the immediate doom Bushitler and the evil Capitalists have wrought on our Gaia. But, NASA knew better…
NASA Examines Arctic Sea Ice Changes Leading to Record Low in 2007 10.01.07
PASADENA, Calif. - A new NASA-led study found a 23-percent loss in the extent of the Arctic’s thick, year-round sea ice cover during the past two winters. This drastic reduction of perennial winter sea ice is the primary cause of this summer’s fastest-ever sea ice retreat on record and subsequent smallest-ever extent of total Arctic coverage.
The results? The evil wind blew sea ice farther south than normal. Guess what? It melted. Just like it did in the ’20’s, when a similar Arctic ‘meltdown’ occurred.
Nghiem said the rapid decline in winter perennial ice the past two years was caused by unusual winds. “Unusual atmospheric conditions set up wind patterns that compressed the sea ice, loaded it into the Transpolar Drift Stream and then sped its flow out of the Arctic,” he said. When that sea ice reached lower latitudes, it rapidly melted in the warmer waters.”The winds causing this trend in ice reduction were set up by an unusual pattern of atmospheric pressure that began at the beginning of this century,” Nghiem said.
But some eco-tourists wanted to see for themselves, for the last time, what Arctic Ice was all about, before it all melted away and flooded New York City and Miami and killed millions of innocents. So, this month, they loaded up on a modern Russian Icebreaker and headed off up the Northwest Passage. Oh Boy! Read more »
A Great World Leader
This guy will be remembered as the Lech Walesa of his time, for standing up against those who seek to expand the state at the expense of liberty.
Klaus, an economist, said he opposed the “climate alarmism” perpetuated by environmentalism trying to impose their ideals, comparing it to the decades of communist rule he experienced growing up in Soviet-dominated Czechoslovakia.
“Like their (communist) predecessors, they will be certain that they have the right to sacrifice man and his freedom to make their idea reality,” he said. “In the past, it was in the name of the Marxists or of the proletariat - this time, in the name of the planet,” he added.
