Five year anniversary of “Mission Accomplished”
Does anybody remember what ‘the mission’ was? Think back to 9/11 and consider these quotes from our Commander in Chief:
“The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him.”- G.W. Bush, 9/13/01
Six months later:
“So I don’t know where he [bin Laden] is. You know, I just don’t spend that much time on him. … I truly am not that concerned about him.
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02: White House Press Conference
Truly not concerned? I guess that says it all. Troop deaths in Iraq are up, April was the worst month for US troops in 7 months. Al Qaeda is getting stronger and Bush doesn’t care. It’s important we remember how we got here, the price we’ve paid, where we are going… and take a good measure of what America thinks and what really has been accomplished. In November, we again will have a choice.
Thanks, GW.

Never saw that as a big deal. Never understood why some people went insane about it.
“Never saw that as a big deal.” I bet you would have the same attitude if Clinton or Gore did the same.
People have gone “insane” because, as it turns out the mission hasn’t been accomplished and minor combat operations have been much worse than the major ones.

There is a difference between a military operation and a police force. Were you a conservative some time ago?
The “Mission Accomplished” anniversary memorializes a failed presidency. All of Bush’s predictions never came to pass. Remember all the “benchmarks” in Iraq? Bush’s hubris has known no bounds.

Those whimpy Democrats would not find a way to ‘win’ any conflict. Gore couldn’t even win his home state in 2000. Clinton did an aspirin factory (and an intern).
We know where Democrat’s strengths lie…well, lying, and raising taxes, and promising endless entitlements, and redistributing wealth, and attacking corporations and the capitalist economic system, and race/gender baiting, and religion-bashing. Just to name a couple.
