Left-wing LA Times wishes the NRA would disband!

NRA’s political clout is waning
By Noam N. Levey, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer

WASHINGTON — Eight years after a national debate over gun control helped keep Democrat Al Gore out of the White House [that’s right! and we, the NRA in Tennessee, are proud of that! -ed.], the National Rifle Assn. and its Republican allies are launching a new campaign to defeat Barack Obama.
But this time, the issue that GOP strategists once relied on to provide crucial votes in close elections has lost much of its political punch.
The NRA is a victim of it’s own success?! What sort of rope is Noam Chomsky Levey smoking? Well, he’s firmly seated in leftist California, and he’s obviously a devout Obamoid, that’s clear enough. But, Noam, Conservatives don’t play the ‘victimhood’ card. Nor do we fold our cards and run when there’s table stakes that are as important as the 2nd Amendment. Or the other issues that we see as important. Believe me, there’s many.
Our clout is waning? You think so? Naaah….wrong, wrong, and wishful thinking on your part. Your purpose in this article is attempting to defuse a significant portion of the Conservative movement, to downplay one of the core issues that keeps Conservatives voting Republican (even when the candidate was as flawed as Bush and is as untrustworthy as McCain.)
I attended the NRA Convention last month; the largest NRA gathering ever. Members didn’t just talk about guns. We discussed things and issues that were well beyond the boundary of gun rights advocacy. That we have to stay alert to protect that which is fundamental to our U.S. constitution is a symptom of a far larger political problem: the encroachment of the Left on our traditional values and on the American way of life. We know your type, Leftists, and we know just how badly you want things to go your way. And how sneaky you will be to get your way.
You’ve trotted out Barack Obama as your presumptive Presidential candidate. Barack is just another in a string of unworthy Presidential candidates chosen by Democrats. How do you Democrats expect to elect a candidate when all you can offer are these non-centrist far-left ideologues and elitists? Al Gore, John Kerry, Barack Obama…none of these guys are worthy of the title Commander in Chief.
Even Noam gets some of this right…
Coelho noted that had more gun owners voted for Gore in West Virginia, Tennessee or Arkansas — all states targeted by the NRA — he would have been president. [Clout, baby, Clout -ed.]
This year, gun rights groups see Obama’s past positions on gun control as an equally inviting target.
When Obama was running for the Illinois state Senate in 1996, he appeared to endorse a ban on handguns. (He has since said that campaign aides incorrectly indicated that position on a candidate questionnaire and that he has never favored a ban.) [Bullshit! Liar! His fingerprints were on the questionnaires! -ed.]
Obama voted against state legislation in 2001 and 2004 to ease restrictions on gun use. And in Washington, the senator opposed a 2005 bill to give gun manufacturers new protections from lawsuits.
He provided further ammunition for his critics in April with comments about “bitter” voters who “cling to guns or religion.” Three weeks later in the Pennsylvania primary, Obama lost nearly two-thirds of voters from gun-owning households, according to exit polls. [And we’ve lost our ‘clout, eh? hmmmph. -ed.]
Yes, Barack Obama has the NRA’s worst rating possible, a large F-. He deserves to lose in November. But not just because of his faulty position on guns.
Barack Obama simply doesn’t have enough experience to serve as Commander in Chief.
Because Barack Obama said this…
“You go into some of these small towns…the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them…and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it’s not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them.”
Oh, this is a fair summation of elitist Harvard politician-speak. Gore, Kerry, Dukakis, any of those failed candidates could have said it. But Barack Obama was overheard saying that; that’s just another example of how green he really is, if such an utterance could escape his lips without thought of who might hear him!
Barack Obama doesn’t have enough experience to serve as Commander in Chief.
Barack Obama thinks that I, and millions of small-town gun owners just like me, aren’t trustworthy enough to own guns. Barack Obama, along with this dope Noam Levey, and the majority of the current crop of left-of-center Congressional and Senatorial Democrats (and their cadre of legislate-from-the-bench Judges) wish that we in the NRA would just fold our cards and go home, and allow them to mount a sneak attack to spring their narrative on us without a fight. A narrative that does promise gun control. It’s in your blood. And you’re sneaking up behind us.
Sorry. You’re bringing a knife to a gun fight.

Have you seen any recent photos of CHarlie D without a hat on? Man, he looks old. Just like the people that think like him, mostly old rednecks, a dying breed.
My favorite quote about teh ageing:
“Don’t pick a fight with an old man, because he will kill you.” (Steinbeck I think…)
That’s been truth since humans started hanging around together, living in the same old caves until over the centuries the cave floors would rise up because of the trash buildup.
Now we humans are still living and dying. And now, old men are ridiculed for their looks instead of listened to for their wisdom.
But, everyone will eventually wind up in the same place, raising the floors for whatever comes along next.
(What really freaks me about Charlie D is the 60-inch-plus waist!)
And good-riddens too, right, William? Damn old backward rednecks.
I find it oh so interesting that you have so much respect for every other culture except the one in which you CHOSE to live.
And of course, the good portion of the population that self-identify as “conservatives” who are neurologically and genetically inferior.
Whenever you say that, you sound like this.
and this.
