Contrary to the conservative mantra that “wealthy people work hard, and deserve their wealth,” most CEOs, COOs, CFOs, CIOs, et al, cannot function on their own, let alone at a level of the $12/hour wage slave they somewhat innumerably employ, within the current technological clime.
I got into the $60K+ annual salary range by being available to help the CIO of a Fortune 100 company to order books via Amazon, a few years ago. Oh, I did some other stuff that got us written up in the trades, and I became a fixture at board meetings, but… there ya go.
Once you tell these people that you will not break the law for them, you are fucked.

And thank you for inadvertently answering flyers4n’s attempted gotcha question. Flying a fighter jet is inherently dangerous, and even moreso when people are shooting at it. But I think McCain’s “hero” status (which I guess you’re challenging?) is more related to how he conducted himself after becoming a POW. Potshot away buddy.

When the Forrestal caught fire in July ‘67, John McCain left his burning jet and was trying to help another pilot escape when a bomb exploded; McCain was struck in the legs and chest by fragments. Yes, he was wounded while helping another…he didn’t take a bullet, but braved burning jet fuel and bomb fragments. That good enough for you?
John McCain was shot out of the sky in North Vietnam, over Hanoi, in October ‘67. I doubt any modern spoiled, whiny liberal like you could take 30 seconds of what John McCain endured for two years. At 30 years old, his hair turned white.
