Support impeachment! (virtually, if not otherwise)
This just in: erstwhile Liberal presidential contender Dennis Kucinich is getting a few minutes this Friday to further erode the Democrat-controlled Congress’ low approval numbers argue in favor of impeaching the president. From the Democrats.com email:
Rep. Dennis Kucinich has led the fight for impeachment since April 2007, when he courageously introduced 3 Articles of Impeachment (H.Res. 333/799) against Vice President Cheney. On June 10, Kucinich introduced 35 Articles of Impeachment (H.Res. 1258) against President Bush. When Speaker Pelosi refused to allow hearings on any of the 38 Articles, Kucinich returned to the floor of Congress to introduce one more Article of Impeachment against President Bush (H.Res. 1345).
Maybe Kucinich should add Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to the list of people who need impeachin’ . . .

Pelosi won’t allow the hearings because certain Democrats on the House intelligence committee, of which she was one, were briefed on the administration’s torture operation and did not lift a finger. So, any investigation would quite probably find her butt in somewhat of a sling.
So yes, maybe he should add her to the list.
So here’s a question– do Democrats treat Denny K as a useful idiot to promote whacked out ideas and bring nonsense to the floor, or do they just treat him as an idiot?
Wow, what a ‘whacked out idea’ … the audacity to even consider impeachment for a president who certifiably committed war crimes … not to mention 34 other articles and constitutional violations. That’s sure is wacky, even the thought of it. It’s not like he did anything seriously bad, like Clinton.
Pssst Ned, Bush has an approval rating in the 20s … did it ever occur to you that congress’s is even worse because they haven’t held the criminal accountable?
If it’s not a whacked out idea, why hasn’t Congress impeached? Why hasn’t there been a response from the governors? Or maybe it’s just that Denny K is on (or beyond) the fringe. And if you support his ideas, where does that put you, William?
Congress’ approval rating is in the tank because of the economy, continued corruption, reckless spending, and general buffoonery. Read into it what you will, but not impeaching the McChimpy Hitlerbu$$$h isn’t the reason.
Captn,
Question: Where does that put me Captn? Particularly since nearly 100 cities and towns across America from Oregon to NC to MA have spontaneously introduced and PASSED impeachment resolutions against Bush, nearly 100 more are pending, so, where does that put me Captn? Please tell us Captn, how many cities and towns across America were so outraged by Clinto that they spontaneously introduced silimar resolutions? Tell us Capt. Or are you going to do what authoritarians do when they can’t answer the tough questions and face the obvious truth by attacking the questioner or responding with: “ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzz”
Uh, do you really want an answer, William?
But seriously, did all that REALLY happen “spontaneously”? Wow.
I don’t care if every American disagreed with the assertion that committing perjury was illegal, I’d still say it was a crime. Whether or not Clinton should have been impeached, you’re not doing this just for payback, are you? How honorable is that?
And, along the lines of CB’s statement, Congress’ approval ratings are in the tank because folks perceive that the Democrats who control Congress are less concerned about doing their job than they are about crucifying Dubya for firing some of his employees or rebutting Mr. Plame-Wilson or agreeing with France about WMDs in Iraq. Go ahead and try and impeach Bush and Cheney (and is Pelosi officially now on the list?)
Oh and about the “certifiable” war crimes, that’s debatable, not to mention suspect given the source of the information:
Ms. Mayer acknowledges that Red Cross investigators based their account largely on interviews with the prisoners. But she writes that several C.I.A. officers she spoke with confirmed parts of the Red Cross description.
Congress’ approval ratings are in the tank because folks perceive that the Democrats who control Congress are less concerned about doing their job than they are about crucifying Dubya for firing some of his employees or rebutting Mr. Plame-Wilson or agreeing with France about WMDs in Iraq.
Pure, unadulterated bullshit.
Congress’ ratings have to do with not ending this pointless, money-suck of an occupation in Iraq. Instead, they genuflect and capitulate to a fucking monarch, and that’s got REAL Americans pissed off, completely, on all ideological fronts except for yours.
.
Are you questioning whether I’m a REAL American?!?!?!
Good night Beavis and Butthead.
Are you questioning whether I’m a REAL American?!?!?!
As an officer of the court (or, as Carmilla Soprano would say, “A lawyer.”), given your relative silence on the subversion of the 4th Amendment, you’re goddamned right I question your American bona fides.
.
Ned,
The Bush Administration’s own investigator who was assigned to investigate prisoner abuse In 2004 Taguba was assigned to report on prisoner abuse and wrote:
“After years of disclosures by government investigations, media accounts, and reports from human rights organizations, there is no longer any doubt as to whether the current administration has committed war crimes. The only question that remains to be answered is whether those who ordered the use of torture will be held to account.”
What about this don’t you understand?
You’ve seen the photos… this year Oscar award winning best documentary film documents the crimes, what more evidence do you need? What level of denial does it take for you Ned to live in such a delusion? Oh… maybe it’s ok in your mind because it’s christians torturing Arabs? Is that it?
You know, I’ve read about people who possess this level of authoritarian denial, the type of person who surrenders all moral sensibility to a leader who sanctions atrocities, standing by the great leader, condoning crimes against humanity. I just don’t know how people can live/think like that. The same people who want to sue a network because a woman showed her tit. I can’t think of many greater levels of moral hypocrisy, inconsistency and denial than you, Ned.
And I can’t think of many greater levels of histrionics than you, William
But stay tuned for a longer response.
When exactly do the colleges start back up . . . ?

Do you mean your next standard habitual post?
