The Battle Ground Poll, Question D3: America is NOT a Liberal Nation

click to embiggen

America is dominated by conservative thinking.

American Thinker’s Bruce Walker points out the latest bipartisan poll taken by The Tarrance Group; a highly-regarded polling outfit now sponsored by George Washington University (”The George Washington University Battleground Poll.”)

Bruce Walker is expert on Poll Question D-3…

“The Battleground Poll, the most respected and thorough of all public opinion polls, released its latest results on August 20th. Although many people read this poll for the data on voter preference in upcoming elections, for voter opinions about the two major political parties, for what things matter most to voters, I always zip past this data in the first fifteen pages of poll results and go straight to Question D3, which very quietly and totally ignored proclaims the biggest missing story in American politics and which is the only story, in the long run, that really matters.”

The results, my friends, speak for themselves.

Most Americans are conservative, at least to a degree. Very few are of the far-left liberal mindset (those Howard Dean Democrats I find so detestable; those who now run the Donkey Party). Both Barack Obama and Joe Biden are of that group of far left liberals: yes, Barack Obama is (as proven by his Senate voting record) an extreme liberal.

Grassroot Americans just don’t care for those extreme leftists. And, since we use an indirect voting system (the electoral college) we do not elect our president by popular vote. Sorry, Al Gore lost; as did John Kerry. From the map you see just how far John Kerry was from claiming even a majority victory. And how conservative America really is.

President Bush isn’t much help to John McCain, because of the onslaught of leftist BDS for nearly eight years. The Hate Bush narrative won’t stand the test of history… already we see intelligent, corrective narratives. The only reason Obama has any support, the only reason he is even still a blip on the radar, (other than the pop culture sorts swooning of course) is because of the fallout from President Bush’s unpopular (but correct) wartime policies.

We see these far-left Democrats using their tools in the MSM to directly influence American voters. But it’s not working…we haven’t seen a boost in BHO’s poll numbers from either this convention or even from his VP selection of Biden. Americans just don’t want leftist culture…Americans are not liberal.

It’s also a fact that we are looking a bit more favorably at Mr. John McCain who, even with all of his documented flaws and some unfortunate liberal leanings, and being saddled with President Bush hatred, presents a much more palatable, centered candidate than that BHO fellow. A much easier pill to swallow, without the bitterness of BHO and his leftist baggage.

The message of The Messiah’s push to socialism and his damaging leftism is starting to register with many more people now, and despite the media’s favorable coverage, BHO is self-damaging. He need to only open his mouth, and continue surrounding himself with leftist people and ideas.

Oh, and surrounding himself with Greek trappings: now, Obama wants a Greek temple and columns for his acceptance speech on Thursday. The Messiah:Narcissus! comes to mind.

I guess it’s too bad that all those blue spots on the map represent more than 50% of the population.

The blue spots represent overpopulation centers, where Democrats ply their freebies to garner votes.

That’s the only way leftists can attract support…they have to buy it with other people’s money.

The blue spots represent overpopulation centers

Maybe you can suggest a Final Solution to address that.

they have to buy it with other people’s money

That explains why our deployed troops are giving $6 to Obama for every $1 to McCain’t.

The blue spots represent overpopulation centers,

No, that is generally where the educated people live

Also, when you ask people what policies they support, you get a different answer. It’s almost like when people hear the word “liberal,” they knee-jerk against it. Funny, that.

Hey, author! Try reading the rest of the survey before you spout uninformed conjecture.

Read that, all of it, and tell me that represents a conservative America. With a straight face.

    Let me specify.

The portion of the poll you used was D3, on page 16.

The text from the following question, on the very next page.

Generally speaking, do you think of yourself as a Republican, a Democrat, or an
    Independent?

    Republican/strong…………………………………………….23%
    Republican/not strong ………………………………………10%
    Lean Republican………………………………………………..8%

    Independent …………………………………………………….16%

    Lean Democrat ………………………………………………….7%
    Democrat/not strong…………………………………………..9%
    Democrat/strong ………………………………………………26%

    NO PREFERENCE (DNR) ………………………………..1%

There’s a great disassociation between Republicans and Conservatives.

    I’m a Conservative, a ’small-r’ Republican.

I once could probably be defined as a Classical Liberal, and a Democrat, but now, since the Leftists have moved the ‘D’ party in a dangerous direction, Classical Liberals are more conservative than liberal. And Democrats?

Democrats are truly the new fascists. Liberal Fascism…read the book. If you can. Might be a bit more than your tiny leftist mind can envelop, though..

So the only way you can convince me you’re right is to resort to insults? Pathetic. Learn how to write without passing off blatantly untrue assertions as fact, your article is full of them. Next time, READ THE SURVEY.

    Also, it’s spelled “envelop.”

The point of my essay was to develop and dissect Question D3. Read the post title.

If you want to explore more and other of the poll’s questions and answers, feel free to do so. Maybe on your blog? Link it here.

I’ll drop in to read it. I promise.
