McCain’s health care plan: deregulate insurance industry because it worked so well for the banking industry
McCain the deregulator wrote:
“Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation. “
Wow. And you think health insurance is expensive now? Wait til President McCain gets in. If you aren’t under the state or federal umbrella for your health insurance, forget it… you’ll never be able to afford it and if you ever need hospital care or have an accident, you’ll spend the rest of your life paying for it.
BTW … in July, I fell off my bike and had to go to the emergency room. I had 2 pain shots, 3 x-rays and CT scan. I was there 6 hours and had less than 2 min face time with doctors. I waited 45 minutes in pain and they didn’t even dress the cut for hours! MTMC absolutely sucked. Anyone want to guess what they charged my insurance company for this?
Obama: Will create a new national health plan for all Americans, which will include guaranteed eligibility and comprehensive benefits. Also wants to create a National Health Insurance Exchange, which will help Americans shop for health insurance and impose new regulations on the industry. Health insurance for children will be mandatory, and Medicaid will be expanded, among many other ambitious proposals.
McCain: Wants to work with states to develop a “Guaranteed Access Plan (GAP)” that will provide health insurance for the uninsured, and to “reform the payment systems in Medicaid and Medicare.” McCain also wants the federal government to promote easier access to healthcare, smoker cessation programs, the “rapid deployment of 21st century information systems and technology,” and “the establishment of national standards for measuring and recording treatment and outcomes.”
Bad medicine: Ballooning healthcare costs have coincided with federal involvement in the healthcare industry, which has brought us socialized medicine in everything but name. Nevertheless, both Obama and McCain, following the lead of “Hillary Care” a decade ago, both want to use the federal government to “reform” American healthcare. Believe it or not, free markets once upon a time provided affordable healthcare and insurance for most Americans, and would do so again if the Federal Government got out of the healthcare business altogether. And did we mention that federal meddling in healthcare is unconstitutional?
Poor baby. Fell off his widdle trike. The CT scan was absolute overkill. But, they probably sized you up pretty quickly and decided to practice defensively since you are sure to sue if you don’t get what you think you deserve.
And, even after treatment, you are still an asshole.
You didn’t guess $… I forgot to mention, they charged for an IV that I never had.
Actually, the accident probably would have killed most people. Fortunately I’m tough. I just broke a scapula. 40mph over the handlebars, motorcycle tumbling end over end, walking into the emergency room with a ripped and bloody shirt, I have to sit and wait in agony for 45 min while obese people waddle in and out with their minor ailments.
you should have went to an ER in Canada… oh wait, you would Still be wating.
Kid I just hired had a prior MC accident couple years ago. Laid down his Jap bike, sustained a concussion and has some metal bracework in his spinal area. He’s fine now. I hired him because he was a vet, really.
Now, he’ll see a biker riding without full leathers and a strong full-face helmet and call them fools. Saves some special venom for those wearing ‘brain cups’, the half-helmets you see around. “They’re only good for scooping your brains up off the pavement”.
Live and learn.
