McCain likely successful in ducking debate, campaign suggests Palin debate off too
Mission accomplished. McCain and the GOP have scuttled the agreement said to have been reached this morning. McCain will likely be able to duck the debate.

…so much for the political theater: “No deal - No debate” - McCain also lied about suspending his campaign.
The Atlantic reports:
A senior campaign official says that McCain will NOT debate — no matter what — if Congress hasn’t reached an agreement on a bailout package.
And even more astonishing:
The aide did not know whether Gov. Palin would attend Oct. 2’s vice presidential debate if Congress, by that point, still hasn’t reached a deal.
If McCain doesn’t show up tomorrow night, what does this prove?
It proves McCain can not multitask and is not suited for the presidency.
Obama said it best about the injection of campaign politics into this negotiation:
