McCain’s High Road Act Is BS
I just checked my RSS reader and the first three liberal and cat bloggers I came across were praising McCain. Weird!
Aunt Bee- “Keep it up John!”
Jeffraham Prestonian- “I hope he keeps this up.”
The Pesky Fly- “This may be McCain’s ‘Checkers moment.’ Only–and sadly for our nation– Checkers wasn’t running against Nixon.”
Go see what they are talking about. I certainly don’t want any idiot accusing Obama of being a Muslim, but I’m a little bit too cynical to buy into McCain’s high road act. Yes I’m holding my nose and voting for him, but I don’t trust him as far as I can throw him. That one lady was so over the top that he had no choice but to refute her. As for his “lose an election to win a war” line, he knew the surge was going to work and he knew that he’d end up on the right side. The suspension of his campaign was a stunt and any intellectually honest person knows it. So was his Hillary Clinton mortgage proposal. There is no conservatism in his core. He’s nothing but a politician.
Sorry fellow Republicans. I’m just so disgusted in our candidate. Perhaps we should lose and let full blown socialism run this country in the toilet. Maybe then, a conservative will rise up, assuming one still exists.

After all, they said were only using their illegal domestic spying program to monitor suspected terrorists. That turned out to be be pretty much everyone.
The definition of “terrorist” keeps getting incrementally expanded. That’s how this game works.
First, it was Muslims. Then they arrested a Hispanic. Now, at MTSU, we have a black person charged with terrorism. Folks, these are all American citizens, not that it is OK to torture non Americans.

Essentially, according to S1959, all you have to do is think bad thoughts about the government and you are a terrorist. In other words, dissidence = terrorism. The Bush administration is telling us that we have no rights. NO RIGHTS! Get it?
Things are getting dangerously close to the point where anyone that offers resistance, which is nothing more than exercising our God given rights, can be tortured, brown, black or white.
What is it going to take for people to realize that this is not about liberal vs. conservative?
Don’t worry, Glen. If the Repub ticket wins McCain will be out of the way soon enough. Then the next 4 years really will be just like Bush/Cheney with Palin serving her masters. Hint: that ain’t us.

Think about it, whatever the suspect may or may not have done in the MTSU affair, no one was hurt or killed. No bombs exploded. No guns were fired. And yet, he is charged with “terrorism”.
Folks, this is a big deal. This is a tipping point. The goalposts are moving. Take notice. This has happened before. Pay attention. Look at history. Don’t be blind. Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt.

There’s nuance in the law. Terrorism, like that which happened at MTSU, caused many people to be fearful for their welfare, to the extent that the place was shut down. The perp (may he rot in jail for ‘x’ length of time, supplying ‘y’ number of various happy moments to other, larger perps; see that other term, above) knew he was causing mayhem and costing better people much worry and time.
I don’t feel sry for him.
And, terrorists don’t have to come in a particular color. Remember that nut who bombed the Federal building in Oklahoma City, and that terrorist who bombed the Pentagon and tried to kill that Judge’s family with gasoline bombs? One was put to death for his crimes; the other, now a professor at Chicago University. Both are white.
So, RACIST! you are for trying to define terrorism by color.

Setting aside the fact that rape is not a crime of sexual gratification, other than the psychological torment (rape is an act of dominant violence), I agree that a bomb threat should subject the convicted threatener to extreme sanction under the law.
