No matter which ’side’ of the aisle we’re on (Conservative Republicans or the more middle of the road sorts of Republicans, or Independents) let’s not forget our American troops, and their sacrifice. We should never forget the purposes of these wars, and the efforts made by our men and women in uniform to win.

Nor should we forget the..efforts..made by our enemies to drive us to defeat.

You know who you are.

    Yay! Unicorns!

Your job, JP, is to visit each blog and see if you find mention of a…cat…on any of their home pages.

You know, so you can feel somewhat included.

Off with you now! Zip! Zip!

  3. Serr8d, 22. November 2008, 9:47

Did I ever show you a pic of my wife’s cat? Prettier than yours; plus, I can take a catshot and get the correct eyelights…

    ;D

I wanna see a picture of your unicorn, Rusty!

Hmm. “Victory in Iraq Day”, you say?

An odd way to celebrate Iraqis hanging up effigies of Bush and spitting on them, and chanting “No to America!” and otherwise condemning the proposed new Status of Forces agreement because it doesn’t get our troops out fast enough, but hey, whatever floats yer boat.

Anything that gets us out faster, and keeps such debacles from happening again in the future is fine with me. You want to dream up something that makes this day different from any other day since we were lied into this invasion, fine.

Oh, and thanks so much for compiling the list of blogs cited above. Nice to have assembled all in one place, so anything cited from them in the future can be written off as the product of believers in the “We Make Up Our Own Reality” thesis.

I won’t keep you any longer, I’m sure you have to get ready to head down to Walter Reed or your local VA for your stint of volunteer work with the limbless and brain-damaged remnants of your little war. But you got to have a “Victory in Iraq Day” so it was all worthwhile. Positively heartwarming.

What did we win? This? It’s over? Mission Accomplished? Haven’t we heard this before?

    Great list.

    Thanks, Glen.

Those sites are some of the best on the web. A couple even picked up the graphic I designed (although that was a hurried job, and I like the one above much better!), including my friends at Barking Moonbat Early Warning System.

William, I cross posted one of your lame-ass comments to PW. Better go take up for yourself…

I’ve seen it first hand now for 20 years as a professor. … they are in the vast minority, generally maladjusted freaks, even though they are really good people, just haven’t seen enough of the world I guess

“Good Lord. I worked in academia for 20 years, too, and I’ve never read anything so self-unaware.”

  9. William, 22. November 2008, 16:08

I like this response the best:

I was homeschooled and was exactly what The William person described. I cared for awhile, then worked my shit out like everyone else, and haven’t cared since. But let me tell you, I gave the overly socialized, indoctrinated sheep something to think about every time I opened my ignorant, sheltered, goddamn fucking mouth.

I’m sure she did! When you’re indoctrinated into religious conservative dogma, it’s easy to describe the normal intelligent open minded critical thinking majority as “sheep”. Dogma is what it is and can not be challenged. There is never absolute certainty in anything but dogma, a mind made up is closed. That’s why dogma sucks, because you’re taught not to question it. Being in a learning environment is about questioning everything.

  10. serr8d, 22. November 2008, 17:14

So, The Willliam, I’m sure you’ve examined and questioned your own leftist beliefs exhaustively and comprehensively and you’ve done so with a completely open mind.

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HA HA !1!11!!!111!!!!!

Serr8d, why do you antagonize those very civilized people at PW with my comments? Does it give you a thrill to rile up those narrow-minded, dogmatic, white married christians in their little conservative bubble? Everytime you do this, you always generate 100s of comments and upset the balance of the self assuring community where everyone agrees that liberals are scum… where everyone watches Fox New and thinks alike. In order to be a part of this group you MUST subscribe to this dogma: AGW is complete BS, Abortion rights = the devil, and America is a (white) christian nation.
    No exceptions!!

Simple answers to simple questions: Yes. That’s exactly it.

In case you hadn’t noticed, for at least the last 16 years, conservative ideology has consistently only been about one central tenet: How can we piss off liberals?

Now, we get to stand back, point, laugh.

A regional rump party, sold short by its own idols for more than a decade.

It’ll stay like that, too, for the next generation. For at least 20 years, you’ll have influential wingers trying (successfully, mostly) to convince the 26%ers that the only thing keeping Bush off of Mt. Rushmore is that he wasn’t wingery ENOUGH.

Nationwide End the Fed demonstrations got virtually no coverage in the MSM. Who are they working for? Not The People, that’s for sure.

It looks like the Clinton syndicate has already engulfed the Obama administration in its slimy tentacles.

For all of you that opposed the illegal wars (don’t forget Afghanistan) and supported Obama, will you march against him if he claims some future “crisis” demands conscription and blood sacrifice of a supposedly free people? After all, The People, not “the leaders” are supposed to be the ones that make the determination when it is necessary to make the ultimate sacrifice, right?

I saw a documentary that documented a part of basic training where the recruits are forced to shout “blood makes the green grass grow”. I was appalled. Obviously, blood does not make the green grass grow. The recruits should have turned on their commanders right then and there.

American troops used to be taught about honor, now they are being taught that torture is just part of war.

Lord have mercy, what are we coming to?

  18. serr8d, 23. November 2008, 9:09

Ahhh, but The William, your comments are truly food for thought. Coming from one who, by his own admission, is a tenured professor (but only at a poor State-run university that’s unfortunately located in the middle of a red county, near the geographical center of a very red state) who gets to vote on tenure for other rising professors (I wonder what sort of qualifications your not-so-well-hidden-anymore agendas bring to those votes?) and who has certainly influenced tainted his students (Spies said it best:”I have no desire to interact with anyone who refers to his students (his STUDENTS) as “maladjusted freaks”), I think it best to use your own commentary as evidence of how far our “Institutes of Higher Learning” have gone, have left the center, have disavowed true ‘freedom to think and learn’ and have now become “Left-Leaning Indoctrination Centers Extraordinaire”.

Believe me, I’m reading your comments, and bookmarking them. Expect more of your professorly manifestos to circulate.

    Widely.

  19. William, 23. November 2008, 16:04

I think it best to use your own commentary as evidence of how far our “Institutes of Higher Learning” have gone

Sure, make sure you include the many competition awards my students have won over the decades - most of any University in the state. Also mention my track record of placing my graduates into the best doctoral programs in the nation by winning competitive assistantships, fellowships, and scholarships. Not to mention my record of international recruiting, touring, research, and public service.

This indoctrination crap is so far off the reality, but is typical of the conservative losers who lash out against anything resembling ‘higher education.’ Not only have conservatives lost control of national politics, but they are losing the culture war that includes a war on education, the arts, science, and the environment. This backward thinking group of knuckle draggers will crushed by a new and brighter generation of Americans that will set the tone for the future, put America’s priorities straight, repair the damage, and return America to greatness. It will take time.

you didn’t answer his question - what have we won? 3 suicide bombings today in Iraq. 150,000 + troops remain and the war is over? hahahahaha

Unless you are there, you probably have no idea what is actually happening in Iraq.

It ain’t “freedom”, if that’s what you’re thinking.

If not, that is a matter of conscience, may the Lord have mercy on your soul.
