White House Dot Gov Soiled on the First Day

That didn’t take very long at all. Barack Obama hasn’t been president for a day and he’s already shitting on the carpet, turning the normally non-partisan White House dot government website into a partisan attack tool. So much for “A National Day for Renewal and Reconciliation“. Here’s the screen shots, taken just minutes ago. Click to enlarge.

A hit piece on George Bush, within hours of taking office. From the front page, under the “AGENDA” sub-heading, click first on “More Issues” then again click on the “Additional Issues” line. Scroll down to “Katrina”.

Katrina

President Obama will keep the broken promises made by President Bush to rebuild New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. He and Vice President Biden will take steps to ensure that the federal government will never again allow such catastrophic failures in emergency planning and response to occur.

President Obama swiftly responded to Hurricane Katrina. Citing the Bush Administration’s “unconscionable ineptitude” in responding to Hurricane Katrina, then-Senator Obama introduced legislation requiring disaster planners to take into account the specific needs of low-income hurricane victims. Obama visited thousands of Hurricane survivors in the Houston Convention Center and later took three more trips to the region. He worked with members of the Congressional Black Caucus to introduce legislation to address the immediate income, employment, business, and housing needs of Gulf Coast communities.

President Barack Obama will partner with the people of the Gulf Coast to rebuild now, stronger than ever.

Ace’s commenters are tearing holes into how “President” Obama managed to respond to Hurricane Katrina when he had been a junior senator for only a few months, and any bills he co-sponsored probably never made it out of committee.

The best response comes from Velociman

Okay. I was giving the man his day, his year, his administration. A faint breeze of circumspection had been wafting across his bow for a couple of weeks. I was going to shut the fuck up and exhibit the class the left has been incapable of showing since 1968. No more.

Read the rest. Great stuff, Vman.

Day One. Freakin’ Day One, and he’s already losing support. “A beginning is a very delicate time..” Reconciliation, maturity, from immature leftists?

Indeed.

Really! Did Bush not insure that Haley Barbour got billions to rebuild casinos and hotels? The fact that thousands still have no home in NOLA to go back to is a very minor issue, and is, three years after the fact, in no way Bush’s problem or fault.

Because, y’know, he didn’t start appearing in the media directly after and because of Katrina or anything… trying to draw attention and help to the city.

Nope. Must have been self-serving grandstanding.

JP, federal money has been going down to Louisiana, particularly New Orleans for years. The only problem is that it never makes it out of the hands of the corrupt local politicians. I agree that this kind of things is classless and surprising coming from someone as politically smart as Obama.

The point being is that the facts always seem to have a liberal bias.

If you thought the Obama administration was going to be all puppies and blowjobs to the legacy left them by Bush, you really didn’t listen to Obama’s inaugural speech.

    After all, it’s whitehouse.gov, not whitewash.gov.

you really didn’t listen to Obama’s inaugural speech.

Can you explain who President Obama was speaking to with that speech? What did it mean?

Can you explain who President Obama was speaking to with that speech?

    Americans.

    What did it mean?

It meant, “There’s a new sheriff in town.”

It meant, “There’s a new sheriff in town.”

No, it meant there are two America’s. Two boats. Us and them.

No, it meant there are two America’s. Two boats. Us and them.

    Really?

What phrases in the speech said this to you?

Really there is only one boat, it’s just that most of the people are rowing their asses off while a select criminal cabal wields the whip and loots all the profits.

We are working to throw them overboard! Obama is going to have to decide which crew he is with. It’s not looking good so far.

#9: Which one is the “real” America then?

Did you read what Vman had to say?

Fuck him. That dandy, that piebald pimp. And his rat shack wife, who was strolling down Pennsylvania Avenue today incomprehensibly dressed like one of the terra cotta soldiers from the Imperial Tombs of China exhibit. Only with a fatter ass. And snappers that looked like they could chomp through a cocoanut. How often has Obama regretted those marital banns, one wonders?

Graceless in victory, these liberals. And we know, of course, how they behave in defeat.

This item will disappear, of course. Just like all of the snide, cheapshot, partisan, venal, juvenile, imbecilic, and unscrupulous things that have emanated from the man’s circle in the last year. And he will distance himself from it, and no word will be uttered by the press against him for it. As the ancient and apocryphal sun worshippers who stared at mighty Sol until they were blinded, so the media are unseeing and unknowing, reduced to the tactile self-comfort of the thrill upon the thigh, the flutter of the heart, the buckling of the knee.

Partisan pissing about on the White House website, of all things. Where’s the goddamn outrage, to steal a phrase from Bobby Dole? More importantly, where is the goddamn class? But, then, we are speaking of liberals. The same bilge rats that hallooed their disdain at Bush as he was departing the city. Class. These fucking losers have no sense of history, or decorum, or protocol, or class. Just a perpetually aggrieved cohort of snot-faced, soiled pink diaper babies.

That’s music to my ears, man.

There’s more memorable lines in that riff than in O!’s entire speech.

And that dress M’chelle was wearing..Blair House is gonna bill O! for that window dressing.

It’s going to be fun watching this joker asplode.

#9: Which one is the “real” America then?

One boat, one America. We are all in the same boat. When some wish for a leak on one end of the boat they wish to doom everyone in the boat.

There is only one America. There is no us and them. There is only us.

If you don’t get it, then ask yourself why.

A long time ago it was said a different way, United we stand, divided we fall.

I still haven’t seen any quotes from Obama’s inaugural speech that made you think Obama thought the opposite.

    Funny, that.

Regardless of if it comes off the website, Obama made it fairly clear what his viewpoint of the previous administrations actions by what he said at the inauguration.

Considering how slow the federal government was in getting financial assistance to New Orleans, I’d say that it’s not so much partisan sniping as simple statement of what has happened.

And yes, I tried to read the links, but I couldn’t get past the heavily stereotyped and racist descriptions in the first paragraph.

  15. polerin, 21. January 2009, 20:35

#9, you’re the one who declared his speech was creating two boats. As Jeffraham said above, I haven’t seen any quotes from his speech that support that assertion. This is in stark contrast to much of the campaign rhetoric from the McCain/Palin ticket, which said that they were supported by the “real” America.
