I liked Pareene’s take on it:

It’s like Peggy Noonan, Jack London, and William Faulkner wandered into the woods with three buttons of peyote and one typewriter, and only this speech emerged.

    Where did Captain Kirk go?

Oh, nevermind he is still there.

On a serious note, she has truly diminished herself by “fighting” with the media like she has. She would have been wise to quietly go back to Alaska and mind her on business, and then come back later wiser and more prepared. But she couldn’t stop. She is likable and says nice things, but she hasn’t worked on the substance.

Likable is questionable. She’s well-liked by the Republican base, but not by much of anybody else. Her unfavorables way outpace her favorables.

She’ll be good for raising campaign money though.

    For herself too, of course.
